A Musical Commonwealth - Glasgow Chamber Choir
Join us in Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church on Sunday 14th June for our summer concert in the West End of Glasgow.
A Musical Commonwealth brings together a programme of choral music inspired by community, shared experience and international connections, reflecting the spirit of this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The concert features music from Scotland and beyond, including James MacMillan’s Missa Brevis and Who Shall Separate Us?, and Bach’s Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied.
The programme also highlights music closely connected with Glasgow Chamber Choir itself. Bruce Fraser’s Tea Slopes to Tenements and Rory Boyle’s Selkie Song were commissioned by the choir to mark the last time the Commonwealth Games were held in Glasgow, linking this summer’s celebrations with those of 2014.
Refreshments will be served after the concert, and all are very welcome.
